Transportation

3-kids-bus-adjusted-2-low-res.jpgPeace Wapiti Public School Division (PWSD) owns and operates its own fleet of 140 regular school buses plus one 21-passenger bus, one 33-passenger bus, and three 17-passenger buses which are equipped for extracurricular trips. More than 4,000 students are transported daily to 29 schools in three school districts.

PWSD manages one of the largest transportation system in the province of Alberta. Each day, 104 school bus drivers travel more than 14,225 kilometres in a total service area of 16,159 square kilometres.

PWSD's Transportation Department garages are located in both Grande Prairie and Spirit River. Safety is undoubtedly PWSD's highest priority. A regular and thorough maintenance and inspection program is in place to ensure the fleet is mechanically safe.

For transportation to run smoothly, everyone must work together – school staff, employees, parents and students.
