Alberta High School Diploma
The Alberta High School Diploma is awarded to a student who in addition to the above, has earned 100 credits.
This is our academic program. It is flexible enough to provide a challenge to those students who have done well in school and will provide adequate preparation for careers which require an average to high level of academic competence. Keep in mind that each university faculty or technical institute requires a different variety of courses. Most post-secondary institutions want students to have more than the minimum requirements for a High School diploma. It is each High School student’s responsibility to be very familiar with requirements both for a High School diploma and the specific requirements of the post-secondary institution he or she wished to attend. It is important to check the course information to make sure you will qualify. A general rule would be to carry at least 5 or 6 of the academic subjects to the grade 12 level.
Certificate of Acheivement
Students may earn credits toward the Certificate of Achievement. Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to successful graduates of the Knowledge and Employability program. To qualify for a Certificate of Achievement, students must earn a minimum of 80 credits.
