"High School Redesign is a province-wide initiative focused on three outcomes: engaged students, high levels of achievement and quality teaching. It's about redesigning high school to be more student-centred and responsive." (Alberta Education)
- We have five 65-minute blocks per day (rather than four 80-minute blocks).
- We have "iPlan" block once per day. This is the block where students can choose what subject they want to study and where. There are math tutors, other teachers, "try-it" rooms (where students can try out a new activity or subject), the weight room, and special homework rooms all available during iPlan.
- CONNECT and dual credit courses are available for students who want or need to study a course independently outside of the regular classroom.
- One-Credit Wonders are offered where a student can take a "stand-alone" module in a day or two.
- Business connections promote hands-on learning in different areas of study
- Tour of the trades offers students an opportunity to learn about 5 trades in one day and then work in one for 3 full days.
