Penson School is a modern building with a gym, stage, library, computer lab, science lab. Special Education room, 10 classrooms (4 with Smartboards) and an ECS room. It has a certified teaching staff of 7 (FTE). Penson School services approximately 130 students from ECS through grade 9 each year.
In addition to provincially prescribed core programs Penson offers a range of complementary courses in grades 6-9 focusing on the fine and practical arts. Technology related courses are mandatory for all students in grades 1 – 9, and all grades have access to computer technology that can be integrated into the core program.
Special needs students are accommodated in a variety of integrated and pullout programs depending on individual and group needs. Students have access to increased services through the FCSS, Student Health Partnership and Children’s Mental Health Initiative.
