Dear Families,
I want to officially welcome all of you to the School Year! Summer has come and gone and now it is time to continue our tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and character. Over the summer break the school has been cleaned, internal systems have been replaced, and three new flagpoles have been established in front of our building. Standing tall, these flags represent the pride we take in providing an exceptional education to our students, and I am honored to begin this, my first administrative year at Penson School.
I began my educational experience… here… literally! Yes, I was a student at Penson school in my early years, and I have always been Peace Wapiti student. After graduating university with a distinguished Bachelor of Education, I came home to teach, and I’ve been dedicated to life-long learning and the students of Penson School ever since. For the past two years, I have taken on a dual role, serving as Literacy Curriculum Coordinator for the district as part of Alberta’s Initiative for School Improvement. This position gave me much experience in instructional leadership, short and long term planning, and strategic problem solving. I look forward to building lasting relationships with each and every member of the community. If we haven’t met before, please introduce yourself in the days and weeks ahead J
I feel incredibly PROUD of our community school: Penson School is notorious for fostering exceptional athletic talent, our academic achievement is presently surpassing provincial averages, and, ABOVE ALL, the kids from Penson show outstanding character. I am also very proud of the staff here at Penson. On a daily basis, they work to provide a safe and caring environment for their students, an environment that makes learning magical and achievement possible. Mr. Kaleb Penner is the newest member of our learning team; he brings a wealth of experience in athletics, music, and current best practices in instruction and learning.
This is going to be an excellent school year! As always, your questions concerning school policy and procedures, schedule, etc are welcome. My office door is openJ I am proud to declare this academic year begunJ
Yours in learning,
Mrs. J. McAusland
