It’s official. PWSD’s Board has chosen the name Whispering Ridge Community School for its new Kindergarten - Grade 8 school, to be located north of Grande Prairie in Whispering Ridge subdivision. A September, 2017 opening is planned for the school.
A total of 46 naming suggestions were collected through an online survey in November. The School Facility Partnership Committee then narrowed the list to three names – County West Public School, Whispering Ridge School, and Whispering Ridge Community School. The name of the new school was selected through a vote held during the Board meeting on January 21st. The Board expressed thanks to those who participated in the survey.
“We are anxious to break ground for the new school, and having a name in place makes the process feel all the more exciting,” says Dana McIntosh, Board Chair.
Additional project developments will be shared on a regular basis via the school website which is expected to be up and running by the end of January.
