Remembrance Day Ceremonies at Peace Wapiti Public Schools

We invite you to attend the following Remembrance Day ceremonies at schools within Peace Wapiti Public School Division:

Today, Thursday, November 6:
• Bezanson School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:45 a.m.
• Bonanza School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 11:15 a.m. – noon. Everyone welcome.
• Clairmont Community School – Thursday, Nov. 6, assembly at 10:30 a.m.
• Elmworth School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 11:00 a.m.
• Helen E. Taylor School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 11:30 a.m.
• LaGlace School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m.
• Penson School, Grovedale – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:45 a.m.
• Ridgevalley School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:45 a.m.
• Rycroft School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:45 a.m., ceremony will be followed by a cheque presentation to the school’s ‘Snack Shack’ program by Louis Dreyfus Canada Ltd.
• Savanna School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:40 a.m.
• Spirit River Regional Academy – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m.
• Sexsmith Secondary School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 11:00 a.m.
• Teepee Creek School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:15 a.m. Songs, wreath laying, and student poetry recitals. Students and parents are asked to wear red to honour the troops. Students have also been encouraged to wear red on Fridays during the month of November.
• Wembley Elementary School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m.
• Woking School – Thursday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m., community classroom.


Tomorrow, Friday, November 7:
• Beaverlodge Regional High School – Friday, Nov. 7, 10:45 a.m.
• Harry Balfour School – Two ceremonies on Friday, Nov. 7: A brief 20-minute ceremony at 10:15 a.m. for Grades 1-2 classes, followed by a lengthier ceremony at 10:45 a.m. for Grades 3-8 classes. The second ceremony will be emceed by junior high students and will include songs, poetry, video presentations and more.
• Peace Wapiti Academy – Friday, Nov. 7, 10:30 a.m., gymnasium.
• R.W. Zahara Public School, Sexsmith – Friday, Nov. 7, 10:00 a.m.


Monday, November 10:
• Eaglesham School – Monday, Nov. 10 – The school’s tradition of spending a night digging and then sleeping in trenches begins at 3:30 p.m. Remembrance Day ceremony will take place on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Eaglesham Community Hall.
