Rycroft School
Location: 5208 - 45 Ave., Rycroft, Alberta
Rycroft School, 70 kms north of Grande Prairie. Grades: Approximately 100 students are enrolled in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.
Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. Due to our extended day, Rycroft School operates on a Compressed School Week (CSW) schedule and, as a result, the school is closed on 13 Fridays throughout the year. Our double-graded classes vary in size from 12 to 21 students.
Students learn and practice the important qualities of good citizenship on a daily basis. Our school rules reflect this philosophy:- Be Safe.

Special features:
The school features a Family First Resource Centre, makerspace lab, learning common, and a Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) reading room. Mobile carts containing laptops and Chromebooks allow classrooms to integrate technology into learning.
Programs:
Students receive a well-rounded education and we are proud of their many successes, whether in academics, arts or athletics. Academically, Provincial Achievement Test (PAT) results in Grade 6 meet or exceed provincial averages.
Rycroft School is a great place for kids to learn and grow. Students can access healthy snacks and a breakfast program. Special programs include Junior Kindergarten, speech therapy, options programming, ESL programming, daily book bonus, cross-graded Friday activities, and a foster child support program.
Sports:
Elementary and junior high students participate in daily physical education classes. Opportunities abound for students to find success outside the classroom. The school supports a variety of sports teams, including cross-country running, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. An intramural league for Grades 1-8 runs throughout the school year. The school hosts a floor hockey tournament for Grades 4-6 students.
