Our students are involved in many activities which help them continue to work within the school and community to foster a positive school spirit, help them develop creativity, build leadership skills, and develop as responsible citizens in a global society. In a small rural school, EVERYONE gets to be a big part of organizing and participating in school teams, projects, and events days.
The links on this section of the website will guide you towards some of those projects that have enhanced our learning experience over the past school year!
*Don't forget to check out other areas in Student Activities, ie. Peaceful Night Flute Circle, Bear Keepers Projects, and Students' Union, to find out more detail about the great and varied extra curricular program our school offers.

Other Special Events or Activities from 2009-2010
Alberta Arts Challenge Days
Bonanza School participated in the Alberta Arts Challenge Days in September (http://culture.alberta.ca/artsdays/default.aspx ), and was awarded a certificate for their involvement in artistic pursuits at that time. The whole school got together to work on leaf printing projects in the gym, with the help of several parent volunteers! The prints were turned into stationery, pictures, and a whole-school paper quilt which is on display for all to see, outside the gymnasium.
Young Writers’ Contest
Students from grades 5-7 participate in Young Writers’ of Canada Poetry and Short Stories Contests each year. Many students have had their literary works published through these contests! Congratulations!
Celebrating Excellence
Students in grades 5-7 wrote essays for the ATCO Celebrating Excellence Contest, which awarded Olympic souvenirs, two trips to the Olympics per Alberta constituency, and a Laptop per constituency.
Essays were to reflect student leadership, community involvement, sports, and school activities. Again, these are available for viewing in the school hallway.
