Grande Prairie, AB – Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) congratulates all participants in the Regional Skills Canada Competition (RSCC) held on April 26 in Fairview, AB, and is pleased to announce that nine students received medals at the event – five gold, two silver, and two bronze. Gold and silver medalists* from the RSCC will advance to the Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC) on May 8-9, 2019 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. A list of medalists is included below.

In addition to the five gold and two silver RSCC medalists who will advance to the PSCC event, the following five additional students from Sexsmith Secondary School pre-qualified to compete at the PSCC, bypassing the regional level of competition:
- Car Painting: Mathew Gillis, Grade 12
- IT Network Systems: Sam Raskauskas, Grade 12
- Photography: Emma Herbison, Grade 11
- Robotics Team: Jack Muggaberg, Grade 11 and Fraser Rycroft, Grade 9
