Kindness is the focus of Pink Shirt Day 2019. In addition to wearing pink on February 27, many PWPSD schools are hosting events to raise awareness and show their commitment to creating welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments.
Pink Shirt Day website asks social media users to "THINK before you post"
It often takes more time and effort to say something mean than it does to say something nice. Kindness requires no manipulation, no focusing on the negatives, and no filtering of yourself. For social media users, remember to THINK before you post – ask yourself, is this True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary and Kind? If you are being cyberbullied, remember to stop, block, talk and save. Don't try to talk to or reason with the cyberbully. Instead, block the sender, tell a trusted adult, and save or capture messages, images or comments that have been posted online.
