An awesome night – Elmworth School and Community Talent Show
Elmworth School threw their doors and stage wide open for a school and community talent night on November 29. Principal Cynthia Gauthier offered praise her drama students who took leadership of the production. "This drama option was one of the most rewarding classes I can remember teaching. I believe it was because the students were motivated from day one. They were invested in every step of the process, from the music, to choosing the slides, writing the scripts, deciding which costumes to wear, building the set, and managing the technology." She says the drama students took risks, had fun learning and came together for their final performance, creating memories to last a long time. "It is an important reminder that some of the best learning takes place outside the classroom, and that we need to continue to recognize all abilities, gifts and talents in our schools," adds Ms. Gauthier. Community talent included Trustee Lori Grant as Elvis, and Elmworth School Council Chair Sandra Petherbridge who was reported as having great dance moves.
