The Hold and Secure at Savanna and Bonanza Schools has been lifted by the RCMP. The situation that occured in the general vicinity of the schools has ended.

Students and staff at Bonanza School are also currently under a Hold and Secure this afternoon while the RCMP respond to a situation in the area. Students and staff are safe inside the school.
Savanna, AB, October 10, 2018, 2:30 p.m. – Students and staff at Savanna School are currently under a Hold and Secure this afternoon while the RCMP respond to a situation in the area. Students and staff are safe inside the school.
Hold and Secure is a response to a threat and or incident in the general vicinity of a school, but not related to the school. School life continues as normal inside the school, however, the precautionary measure to lock school doors is taken to ensure staff and students are safe, and to reduce activity while law enforcement officials conduct their work.
