School bus drivers arriving at PWSD schools on Monday morning will be greeted by Principals and presented with School Bus Driver Appreciation Day chocolate bars (pictured below).
The first Monday in May is set aside annually as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Students, parents and staff of Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWSD) recognize the important function that school bus drivers serve in safely transporting children to and from school.
After completing their morning runs on Monday, May 1, PWSD drivers will be invited to a continental breakfast at PWSD's Transportation Office at Central Office in Grande Prairie.
PWSD manages the third largest transportation system in the province of Alberta. Each day, 105 school bus drivers travel more than 14,225 kilometres in a total service area of 16,159 square kilometres, transporting 4,000 students to 29 schools in three school districts.
Thank you to all PWSD bus drivers for your dedication, patience and commitment to safety.
