Clairmont Community School (CCS) will host its third annual Student Convention on Friday, March 17, 2017. The event line-up promises students an engaging day of discovery, exploration and positive energy.
The day will kick off with a performance by country music duo Trin and Ariane at 8:45 a.m., followed by three one-hour learning sessions in classrooms, the gym and the attached Wellington Resource Centre. The varied sessions, led by teachers and external presenters, will begin at 9:35 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and will encourage students to explore technology, sports, arts, fitness, cooking, painting, team building, and music. Staff and students will reconvene in the gym at 2:15 p.m. for a wrap-up keynote presentation by Keisha Mastrodimos, a graduate of Beaverlodge Regional High School who, in her final year of high school, suffered a severe spinal cord injury as a result of a car accident. Despite the setback, Miss Mastrodimos' can-do attitude has become the basis of her message of hope and never giving up.
