Not even the wind and rain could dampen spirits at this morning's Tools for School "stuff a bus" event, an annual initiative sponsored by United Way Albert North West, Costco, Staples, and the three local School Boards – Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWSD), Grande Prairie Catholic School Division (GPCSD) and Grande Prairie Public School Division (GPPSD).
Executive members from the sponsoring organizations were joined by MLA Wayne Drysdale and staff, students and volunteers from PWSD, GPCSD and GPPSD. Through teamwork, a school bus supplied by PWSD was stuffed with donations of more than 800 backpacks and extra supplies in less than 30 minutes. The bus traveled to the three Board offices where the supplies were unloaded for distribution to area schools.
