Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWSD) congratulates all students who participated in the Regional Skills Canada Competition (RSCC) on April 23-24 in Fairview, AB, and is pleased to announce that nine students received medals at the event.
To qualify for the 23rd Provincial Skills Canada Competition planned for May 13-14, 2015 at the Edmonton Expo Centre, students competing in the regionalized events at the RSCC in Fairview had to achieve either a first- or second-place finish. PWSD students earned three gold medals in the culinary arts, intermediate hairstyling and junior hairstyling categories; and a silver medal was awarded for cabinet making. Also notable were three bronze medals in the welding, intermediate hairstyling and junior hairstyling categories.
