Residents of Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions, as well as families with children who ride Bus Routes 322, 382 or 406, are asked to complete a Transportation Survey by midnight on January 4, 2015. Door hangers containing survey details will be distributed to homes throughout both subdivisions during the weekend of December 13-14, and bus students on the three affected routes will also receive copies for their families.

Currently, students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 who live in Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions belong in Harry Balfour School’s attendance area and receive transportation to this school at no cost. Families who wish to send their child(ren) to another school are responsible for providing transportation to that school. At a Board Meeting in June, 2014, a group of parents from the area requested that Peace Wapiti Public School Division also provide cross-boundary busing to Clairmont Community School.
Busing to Clairmont Community School will be a temporary solution.
In October, the Minister of Education announced a new K-8 school in Whispering Ridge for Peace Wapiti Public School Division. While it is too early for details, the new school will not be ready before September, 2017.
We try to meet as many of the transportation needs of our students as possible. If the results of the online survey indicate that residents of Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions would like the option of having their children bused to Clairmont Community School, it will be a temporary solution that will end with the opening of the new school in Whispering Ridge.
What if I don’t live in Whispering Ridge or Westlake Village subdivisions? Your child(ren)’s bus route may be impacted.
If the results of the online survey indicate that residents of Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions would like the option of having their children bused to Clairmont Community School, the following bus routes will experience earlier pick-up times and later drop-off times to accommodate the addition of new stops to and from the school:
• Bus Route 322, driven by Wendy Grendys
• Bus Route 382, driven by Pat Kimble
• Bus Route 406, driven by Jaclyn Bryce
