This event is organized by the school’s Interact Club and will include approximately 55 student participants. Activities planned for the evening include sports, board games, movies and video games. The school has already surpassed their fundraising goal of $2,000 – a new total will be published following the event.

About 30-Hour Famine:
The event dates back to 1971 when a small group of youths in Calgary, hoping to draw attention to child hunger in Africa by not eating for a day and a half, caught the attention of local media. With the support of World Vision since the early 1980s, 30-Hour Famine has grown to international proportions with events now being held in 15 countries worldwide. Now, more than 100,000 Canadian youth participate annually in this World Vision event. Traditionally, 30-Hour Famine has meant fasting from food, but students can choose what they will give up – including fasting from cell phones, furniture, television, online gaming and talking. The global event will take place on April 25-26, 2014. For more information, visit www.famine.ca
