Two PWSD teachers have received exciting news – both have learned they will be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for their volunteer work.

Chris Young, a first-year teacher at Savanna School, is being recognized for his work with the Army Cadet Expedition program. He will be honoured during a ceremony at the school on Monday, Feb. 25 at 2:45 pm.   

Mike McKay, who is in his sixteenth year of teaching at Eaglesham School, will receive his medal during a ceremony beginning at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Coco Hall in Wanham. McKay is being recognized for his work on the Remembrance Day project he has been running at the school for several years.
