About the 3D Children's Charity:

Since the 3D Charity Hockey Tournament's inception in 1999 it has grown to be the largest 3-on-3 event of its kind in the Grande Prairie Region. Students from the Grande Prairie Public, Grande Prairie Catholic, and Peace Wapiti School Districts all participate in a weekend tournament that benefits seriously ill children in our community. As the Tournament has grown, we have added soccer into the event and the participation of student soccer players has been outstanding.

In 2019, the charity eclipsed over $1,000,000 in total funds raised. Every dollar raised goes directly to a student with serious medical concerns, and aids them in ways specific to their needs. Many sponsors in the Grande Prairie area have contributed thousands of dollars to ensure that the charity does not have to pay any operating costs to run the tournament. The Charity has benefited over 400 children in the Grande Prairie Area.

Funds raised help to lighten the burden for these students and their families who need medical treatment. There are students in the three school districts who need to travel to Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Seattle and therefore we can help them with transportation, food, accommodation, medical equipment, and other miscellaneous expenses.

As the 3D Charity reaches its 20th year the mission continues to be to support seriously ill students and their families through the unimaginable challenges they face. As the charity continues to grow it strives to be dynamic in providing support options and resources to Grande Prairie and Area students and their families. Over the past 20 years the 3D Charity has received tremendous support from sponsors, volunteers, and community partnerships and will continue to forge these critical relationships for the benefit local students and families in need.
