Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) owns and operates its own fleet of school buses, plus passenger buses which are equipped for extracurricular trips. More than 4,000 students are transported daily to 29 schools in three school districts.
PWPSD manages one of the largest transportation system in the province of Alberta. Each day, more than 100 school bus drivers travel more than 14,225 kilometres in a total service area of 16,159 square kilometres.
PWPSD's Transportation Department garages are located in both Grande Prairie and Spirit River. Safety is undoubtedly PWPSD's highest priority. A regular and thorough maintenance and inspection program is in place to ensure the fleet is mechanically safe.
For transportation to run smoothly, everyone must work together – school staff, employees, parents and students.
